Infield Transformer Services of Raleigh-Durham, NC, specializes in On Site Transformer Services. We are three employees with over 85 years experience in Transformer Repairing, Maintenance, Testing, Consulting, Building, Leaks, etc. We have seen and repaired just about any conceivable problem(s) which can occur with transformers, so nothing is a surprise to us.
We have all worked for the same transfomer company over the past 30 years in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area, and now have formed our own company specializing in Repairing Transformers on site.
A Leaking Transformer can cause environmental issues, not to mention possible failure or costly down time. That's where Infield Transformer Services (ITS) comes in. We can repair units on site on emergency basis. We can also work the time frame that best fits your company's schedule, especially for Routine Maintenance.
To avoid the high cost of shipping transformers to repair manufacturer's, we offer Infield Repair work. In most cases, this could be as simple as changing of gaskets, bushings, etc., all of which can be addressed on site.
An Example: Bushing Is Leaking -
A. Oil is pumped below problem area through a filter system, cleaning oil as it is pumped out.
B. Bushing is removed and all gaskets are changed with H60 Gasket, which is used by major manufacturers.
C. If bushing is okay, reinstall, if not, replacement or repair of bushing is necessary.
D. After repairs are made, filter oil back into unit.
E. Check for leaks.
If filtering of oil is necessary, we will filter oil with at least (5) five passes through (2) two spearate filters. This will add longevity to the life of your transformer, thus preventing costly replacement and/or down time. We have a dual infield transformer service filter System; (1) Fullers Earth, and (2) Pleated Filers 1/2 micron.
Infield Transformer Services also performs Infield Testing of Oil, T. T. R., Megger of Units.
